If ever you are unsure about what you should be doing financially, whether it be to do with grants, loans, hall fees, burseries, or even something as simple as budgeting, then you can find information that will help you on the “money matters” student support tab of the Leeds Trinity intranet site. If there is something you’re looking for and the information isn’t there for you, then contact Emma Crompton in student support, room AG-09A. Her phone number is 0113 283 7173 and you can get in touch by email on studentfinance@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
For now, here is some information that could be of use to you…
Entering Higher Education can be an exciting time but it can also be daunting trying to manage your money. Help is on hand with Leeds Trinity’s student adviser (Emma Crompton) in the student support department who can offer advice and guidance on all your financial worries. Leeds Trinity also has a range of ‘Money Matters’ leaflets (pick them up from the Student Support Centre) and website http://web.leedstrinity.ac.uk/moneymatters/ which gives advice on loans and grants, taxes and national insurance, debt, budgeting, banks and credit cards, and much more.
By now you should have received notification of how much student loan and grant you are entitled to. If your loans and grants are delayed, or you are having problems with your loans and grants, please call into a drop-in with the Student Adviser who will be happy to help you.
If you receive a maintenance grant (or equivalent) from the government as part of your loans and grants package you will receive a bursary from Leeds Trinity. The bursary is 10% of the maintenance grant. So if you receive the full maintenance grant of £2,835, you would receive a bursary from Leeds Trinity of £283. The bursary is usually paid around March to all eligible fully registered students. Please note, you must be paying, or be in receipt of a tuition fee loan, for the correct fee in order to receive the bursary. For more information about the bursary please visit http://web.leedstrinity.ac.uk/moneymatters/
