How We Work

How LTU is Structured

Leeds Trinity and All Saints Students Union is made up of every student at Leeds Trinity.  As soon as you sign up to study here you automatically become a part of the union.

The Union is a democratically run organisation that will actively work to ensure that students are getting the most out their time at uni.  It is divided up as is demonstrated in the diagram, and it is always important to remember that the students are at the top of the hierarchical structure.

Under the students is the Union Council; essentially the ideas tank for LTU.  Through the roles, remits, and work of those who sit on the Council, LTU finds out where and how it needs to be working.  Concepts are proposed and voted on by the elected members and are then taken to the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee takes the concepts and works them into manageable and well structured plans of action.  They set the budgets for LTU events and campaigns and then work to feedback to the Council and work with the volunteer officers to implement the ideas that have been passed.

We then try to have as big an impact on the student population as we can, thus improving the lives of students at Leeds Trinity.

As a means of continuity and a way of implementing good practice and development, LTU has two permanent staff members.  A financial administrator to oversee the income and expenditure, and a General Manager who is responsible for the long term development and improvement of both the commercial and non-commercial elements.
